Indian e-Commerce Company Snapdeal Raises Another US$200 Million
February 17, 2016

Indian online marketplace Snapdeal has raised US$200 million in funding led by Canada's Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan this week, reported Reuters on February 15. The latest fund-raising follows US$500 million invested by Foxconn, Alibaba, and SoftBank last August. Now Snapdeal's valuation is estimated to reach between US$6.5 billion and US$7 billion, making it the second most valuable startup in India with a market share narrowly lagging behind Amazon and Flipkart. Snapdeal said the funds will be used for the development of technology platforms, logistics, payment and back-end systems.
